Robert spent his career in aviation, from airline pilot to senior executive for All Nippon Airways. He spent 10 years on Tortola, British Virgin Islands, flying and later managing for Air BVI, the flag carrier airline. Bob met Diana in the BVI during her vacation and, after a whirlwind romance, they married and eventually moved back to the U.S. Bob holds numerous aviation licenses — including Flight Instructor, Flight Engineer-Turbojet, Air Transport Pilot — and is type-rated to fly the Boeing 737. Diana has had a more circuitous route. After brief careers in journalism and retail, Diana was a stockbroker and worked on Wall Street. She found her true calling in 1985 when she entered the crazy world of public relations and she’s been there ever since. Diana is the former head of corporate communications of Capital One, and retired a few years ago from her position of Assistant County Manager and Director of Communications for Arlington County, Virginia.
