Biking Normandy & Brittany

Our first international trip (Aug. 2021) since the start of the pandemic! It was glorious to bike through beautiful countryside and immerse ourselves in amazing and moving history. From ancient walled cities to centuries-old architectural wonders to the moving D-Day remembrances at the beaches of Normandy — it was a great trip. Highlights included Omaha Beach, Bayeaux Tapestry (basically, an enormous “press release” on the Norman Conquest of England), Mont St. Michel, St. Malo (see the book “All the Light We Cannot See”). And the food! Because of all the biking, it was guilt-free eating, LOL! Diana particularly enjoyed the fresh oysters at Cancale, the oyster capital of France, and tons of yummy cheese, including Camembert, the local speciality.

At the end of this tour, we flew to Malta — an amazing place full of 7,000 years of history.
