Cocos Island/Shark Diving – May 2009

Known as “Island of Sharks,” Cocos Island is a World Heritage site, an uninhabited island 300 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. It was Bob’s viewing of a documentary about Cocos that inspired us to take up scuba diving. Read a Men’s Journal article about Bob’s obsession with Cocos. It is an amazing place. We were aboard the Aggressor Okeanos live-aboard dive boat, the only way to visit Cocos. When we boarded the boat, we each had about 25 dives under our belt … all the other divers had many, many hundreds of dives. But we made it! And it was terrific.
