We are so fortunate to be able to experience so many different adventures. Some don’t fit into any of our regular categories, and some are just that special. Cheers to adventures of all flavors!
Bikin’ the blossoms — Every spring, our area enjoys the first blossoms of spring bursting forth. The cherry blossom trees are so beautiful. A late snowstorm meant a smaller number of blossoms, but many survived — those trees look delicate, but they are tough! We think biking is the way to go. (2017)
Lady Liberty — In February 2017, we enjoyed a special excursion in our Piper Twin Comanche to New York City, flying below skyscrapers and circling Lady Liberty. Take a look at what it’s like to visit her up close and personal. (View more of our flying adventures and follow us on Instagram #N8475Y.)
Kusama | Infinity Mirrors — this one-of-a-kind exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum brought together many of Yayoi Kusama’s pieces from over the decades. Bob’s short video gives you a sense of what it’s like to walk through the show. (2017)
Piloting a MIG-29 — Bob’s a pilot, and his personal “Everest” was piloting a MIG-29 fighter jet in Russia. He took the controls and even did some aerobatics. Ride along with him on this hair-raising flight. (2015)
Concorde — We were fortunate to be able to fly on the Concorde from London to New York on British Airways, in about 3 hours! Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound) at 60,000 ft. and being able to see the curvature of the Earth…priceless! (1998)
Skydiving — We’ve both been skydiving, though Diana did it tandem (strapped to an experienced jumper) and Bob not only did it solo, but continued on a jumped several more times. It’s quite a rush! (1997)
